Townsend Opera is in the midst of a season that the James Irvine Foundation has said “has the potential to change the field of opera and how arts organizations think about serving their communities.” We are simultaneously working to reestablish opera as a popular art form that has a place in 21st century American cultural and making the improvement of the lives of people in our community through arts experiences a centerpiece of the mission of our company.
We’re doing all of this on a very small budget, so we’re seeking to broaden our base of support and
increase the sustainability of the meaningful work we’re doing in our community.
